  What is a landscape?

A landscape is an area of land with all its visible elements. It’s the view of everything we can see around us.

- Man-made elements can include bridges and roads.

- Natural elements can be divided into four types: relief, bodies of water, types of vegetation, types of fauna.

What types of landscapes are there?

There are many types of landscapes in Spain, including coastal landscapes, mountain landscapes, plain landscapes, desert landscapes and urban landscapes.

How do landscapes change?

All landscapes change over time. Some changes are man-made and some are caused by nature.

Man-made changes are when people do something to change the landscape, like build a bridge or cause a forest fire. 

Some natural changes can be very sudden and violent, like fires, earthquakes, floods or volcanic eruptions .

Other natural changes are very slow, such as the wind and rain slowly changing the shape of rocks.
