BEING A GOOD CITIZEN

Being a good citizen means respecting people. This begins in our families. In a happy family there is respect and all the members share the housework. We can tidy our rooms, make our beds and put our clothes away. We can also lay the table before meals and clear the table after meals or wash the dishes. There are some things we shouldn't do without an adult. For example, we shouldn't cook or try to repair a machine.

SPANISH: Ser un buen ciudadano significa respetar a las demás personas. Esto se aprende en casa con nuestras familias. En una familia feliz hay respeto y todos los miembros comparten las tareas domésticas. Podemos ordenar nuestra habitación, hacer nuestra cama y ordenar la ropa. También podemos poner la mesa antes de comer y quitarla después de comer o lavar los platos. Hay algunas cosas que no deberíamos hacer sin un adulto. Por ejemplo, no deberíamos cocinar o intentar reparar una máquina.

Different people work in a school. Teachers help us to learn about the world. Non-teaching staff, such as the dining room assistants and porters, help us too.

SPANISH: Personas diferentes trabajan en un colegio. Los maestros nos ayudan a aprender sobre el mundo. El personal no docente, como los cocineros y los porteros, nos ayudan también.

Our neigbourhood is the area where we live. Our neighbours are the people who live near us. We should respect and be polite to our neighbours.

SPANISH: Nuestro vecindario es el área dónde vivimos. Nuestros vecinos son las personas que viven cerca de nosotros. Deberíamos respetar y ser educado con nuestros vecinos.
