 What are the characteristics of vertebrates?

Vertebrates have:

• a backbone and an internal bone skeleton.

• a head with a skull to protect the brain. The sense organs of animals are mainly found on the head.

• a trunk. Most vertebrates have four limbs that are connected to the trunk. Some also have a tail.

What are the types of vertebrates?

There are five types of vertebrates. They can be aquatic or land animals.

What are the characteristics of mammals?

Mammals are vertebrates. Young mammals get milk from their mothers.

Where do they live?

On land or in water.
