OUR SENSES
We haVe five senes and each sense has an organ.
SPANISH: Tenemos cinco sentidos y cada uno tiene un órgano.
- The organ of touch is the skin. We use our skin to identify hot or cold, hard or soft, smooth or rough. Our body is covered with skin. It's the largest organ in the body.
SPANISH: El órgano del tacto es la piel. Usamos nuestra piel para identificar calor o frío, dureza o blandura, suavidad y rugosidad. Nuestro cuerpo está cubierto de piel. Es el órgano más grande de nuestro cuerpo.

The organ of taste is the tongue. We use our tongue to identify different flavours.
SPANISH: El órgano del gusto es la lengua. Usamos nuestra lengua para distinguir diferentes sabores.

The organs of sight are the eyes. We use our eyes to identify colour, shape, size and distance.
SPANISH: Los organos de la vista son los ojos. Usamos nuestros ojos para diferenciar colores, formas, tamaños y distancias.

The organ of smell is the nose. We use our noses to identify different smells.
SPANISH: El órgano del olfato es la nariz. Usamos nuestra nariz para diferenciar diferentes olores.

The organs of hearing are the ears. We use our ears to indentify loud, quiet, high and low sounds.
SPANISH: Los órganos del oído son las orejas. Usamos nuestras orejas para identificar sonidos altos, bajos, etc.
NERVOUS SYSTEM
Our senses work together with our nervous system. The nervous system is made up of the brain, the spinal cord and the nerves.
SPANISH: Nuestros sentidos trabajan juntos con nuestro sistema nervioso. El sistema nervioso está formado por el cerebro, la médula espinal y los nervios.

The brain is inside the skull. Its controls everything that happens in our bodies. It recieves messages from our five senses and gives instructions.
SPANISH: El cerebro se encuentra dentro del cráneo. Controla todo lo que ocurren en nuestro cuerpo. Recibe información de nuestros cinco sentidos y da instrucciones.

There are nerves all over our body. Most nerves are connected to the brain by the spinal cord. The nerves carry messages to the brain and instructions from the brain to our locomotor system that make us move and react to the environment.
SPANISH: Hay nervios por todo nuestro cuerpo. La mayoría de los nervios están conectados al cerebro por la médula espinal. Los nervios envían información al cerebro y luego reciben instrucciones del cerebro a nuestro aparato locomotor que hacen que nos movamos o reaccionemos en el entorno.

We use our senses all time to recognise and respond to what is happening around us. For example, seeing the little green man on a pedestrian traffic light menas we can cross the street.
SPANISH: Usamos nuestros sentidos todo el tiempo para reconocer y responder qué está pasando en nuestro alrededor. Por ejemplo, cuando vemos al hombrecito verde del semáforo sabemos que debemos cruzar la calle.
