THE EARTH'S LAYERS

The Earth is made up of three layers. The atmosphere is made up of air. The hydrosphere is all water on Earth. The geosphere os the solid part of the Earth.

SPANISH: La Tierra está compuesta por tres capas. La atmósfera está hecha de aire. La hidrosfera es todo el agua de La Tierra. La geosfera es la parte sólida del planeta.

The geosphere is made up of rocks (La geosfera está hecha de rocas).

Crust: The solid outer layer. It is the thinnest part of the geosphere. (La corteza: es la capa exterior. Es la parte más delgada de la geosfera).
Mantle: The middle layer made up of very dense rock. It is the thickest layer. (El manto: es la capa media que está compuesta por rocas muy densas).
Core: The inner layer of the geosphere. (El núcleo es la capa interior de la geosfera).

We live on the Earth's crust. It is made of rocks, It is divided into continental crust under the land, and oceanic crust under the oceans.

SPANISH: Vivimos en la corteza de la Tierra. Está hecha de rocas. Está dividida en corteza continental, debajo de la tierra; y corteza oceánica, debajo de los océanos.

THE EARTH'S CRUST CHANGES

The relief of the Earth has changed over millions of years. Rain, wind, and changes in temperature shape the rocks and wear them down. This process is called weathering.

SPANISH: El relive de la Tierra ha cambiado a lo largo de millones de años. La lluvia, el viento y los cambios de temperatura dan forma a las rocas y las desgastan. Este proceso se llama desgaste.
