LIGHT

Light is a form of energy thay allows us to see everything around us. Light may come from natural sources, like the Sun, or from man-made sources, like light bulbs.
SPANISH: La luz es una forma de energía que nos permite ver todo lo que hay alrededor de nosotros. La luz puede proceder de fuentes naturales, como el Sol, o de fuentes artificiales, como las bombillas.

Properties of light/Propiedades de la luz.

The main properties of light are:

SPANISH: Las pricipales propiedades de la luz son.

Light travel at 300.000 km per second. It is faster than anything else that we can observe in the Universe.

SPANISH: La luz viaja a 300.000 km en un segundo. Es lo más rápido que podemos observar en nuestro Universo.

Light travels in all directions.

SPANISH: La luz viaja en todas las direcciones.

Light travels in a straight line. When light hits an object, a shadow forms behind it.

SPANISH: La luz viaja en línea recta. Cuando una luz golpea un objeto, una sombra se forma detrás de este.

Light and objects/Luz y objetos.

Depending on how much light passes through them, objects can be:

SPANISH: En función de cuánta luz pasa a través de ellos, los objetos pueden ser:

- Transparent: light passes easily through them.

SPANISH: Transparentes. La luz pasa fácilmente a través de los objetos.

- Translucent: Only some light can pass through.

SPANISH: Translúcidos. Solo, algo de luz pasa a través de los objetos.

- Opaque: Light cannot pass through them.

SPANISH: Opaco. La luz no puede pasar a través de ellos.

Refraction/Refracción

When light passes from one material to another, it bends and changed direction. This is called refraction.

SPANISH: Cuando la luz pasa de un materia a otro, se dobla y cambia de direccion.

Refracción can cause objects to appear bigger o smaller than the really are.

SPANISH: La refracción puede causar que los objetos parezcan más grandes o más pequeños de lo que son en realidad.
