 What is the Spanish coastline like?

The Spanish coastline is very long. It’s divided into five sections.  

Cantabrian coast

Galician Atlantic coast

Andalusian Atlantic coast

Southern Mediterranean coast

Eastern Mediterranean coast

What are the Spanish archipelagos?

The two main Spanish archipelagos are the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands. 

• There are five main islands in the Balearic Islands. The coastline is uneven with cliffs and lots of coves. 

• There are seven main islands in the Canary Islands. The coastline has many mountains and cliffs. The highest peak of Spain is located on the island of Tenerife; it’s a volcano called Teide.
